Accommodation in Sun City

Hi

Does anyone know if are there any hotels or guest houses (on a budgeted scale) in the Sun City other than the Sun City chain of hotels? If yes, can you recommend some to me?

Is there any public transport from Johannesburg to Sun City and around how much does it cost per person?

There are four world-class hotels at the Sun City resort offering superior accommodation, the Sun City Hotel, Palace of the Lost City, the Cascades Hotel and the Cabanas. There is plenty of low budget accomodation in the Pilanesberg.

10 mins drive from Sun City is the Sundown Ranch, rooms are old fashioned & need updating but clean, good value buffet food, R850 double room DBB or R1265 for family room DBB, we stayed after spending the day in Sun C. Visit the lion park which is joining the hotel it's a must and is excellent.

OR 10 mins from Sun C is Kwa Maritane this cost us R5500 DBB for 2 adults/2 children 8 & 10yrs for the weekend but its a super lodge, lots for children, beautiful rooms, there is an underground path to get to the Hide where you can sit & watch close up for animals, food was v. good, incs 2 game drives into Pilanesberg (wrap up warm), worth every penny.

Don't know about transport, I would suggest car hire and a map.
