We are visiting SA in November 2006. Any good tips would be welcome. We have 16 days in country. I want to do a 'shark dive' is the season okay for this? We are planning to fly to Durban so, again is the season good for 'free' diving? Are the game parks worth visiting near Durban?
We will have a car in Cape Town, again so any good tips would be welcome. The Garden Route is well known - are there any less well known, but just as good (if not better)? Lokking forward to hearing from you. cheer. Chris |

This is shark diving season! Lots of food in the water for them during November ad water is generally clear. Also try the dive in the Two Oceans Aquarium...many people think it a better experience. Winelands always good and Route 62 for a difference from the Garden ROute. Also go into Sutherland (or Kagga Kamma) for a night under the stars. West Coast is a rugged trip but beautiful.

if you do decide to go garden route... and have a car, try see some of the smaller places along the way, WITSAND, STILBAAI , JONGENSFONTEIN... are all wonderful places to see, WITSAND has a small restaurant on beach thats makes good seafood at reasonable price, wines also quite cheap, good whale watching and I hear good kiting, STILBAAI, is a coastal village on river and sea, has a small harbour, whale watching during June and December JONGENSFONTEIN has stunning sea views, a very small village on the sea with a lovely caravan Park with wonderful sea views.Whale watching during June to December..

You must try the strandloper in langebaan about 1 hour drive from Cape town, A restuarant on the beach, very laid back, you can even take your tent and stay the night, try a google search, let me know if you need more info on Cape Town
You will have a fantastic time, im sure Regards Zeena |

My husband and I are considering a trip to South Africa. We would appreciate any info that you could give us. We are looking for inexpensive accomodations, sights to see, what to do and what not to do -- any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.

Cape Town ... go up Table Mountain and take a boat trip to Robben Eiland. Garden Route ... do some Whale watching and visit Knysna. Kruger National Park ... see the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lions and leopards ... and many more). The Panorama Route ... the Blyde River Canyon with it's stunning view of the lowveld and it's many waterfalls. |
