Default Best places to stay in Durban

Hi,

When I've been on holiday to Durban I normally stay in Ballito. I've heard though that town is the best place to stay - can anyone give me some first hand advice on the different areas of Durban with regards to proximity to activities and budget?

Thanks in advance

Oh, I forgot to mention. Wildcoast is a casino. Surrounding it is the beaches and such. Go to Bluff as well. There's this really nice beach there called Ansteys Beach and everyone who goes there LOVES it! Ushaka Marine in town is nice! It's a marine world kind of place on the beach. Really nice. You get to see all the shark tanks and all that. It's absolutely splendid! The malls are beautiful as well; like the Pavillion and Gateway! There's also this other casino....Sun Coast Casino. Really good place and entertaining for adults and kids!

Well; I can go on and on....cos I know and love Durban. You just have to see it for yourself!

Smile Hey

Thanks for the info!

Excuse my ignorance but is it just the casino which constitutes the Wildcoast? Or is Wild coast also used to loosely refer to the area? You mentioned south/north coasts, is the Wild coast in the south or the north.

I've been to Gateway before - awesome mall, so massive. I've heard it's the biggest mall in the southern hemisphere.

I'm assuming you stay in Durban, where abouts if you don't mind me asking?

I'm a Capetonian myself, I adore Durban because of it's warm ocean. I can swim in the sea there all day! It's fantastic. People always caution me about sharks, but I figure the chances can't be too high and I can't stand the thought of fear getting between me and one of nature's true treasures. If a shark bit you in Cape Town you probably wouldn't even realise with the cold water.

Default Things to do in durban

Guys, I live in Durbs but I have not see it all. We do the usual mall visits over the weekends and a drive to the beach or the flea markets but that is about it. It's also nice to shop for bargains at the Bangladesh market in Chatsworth, blue lagoon Durban north and the flea markets.

I recently visited Cape Town and I could not believe how much the city has to offer. It is beautiful and clean and there just isn't enough time to do all things you want to in a day. Just so much happening it's incrediable.

If you guys know of interesting places to visit please share them with me.
