Default Beware of bandwidth theft

Bandwidth theft is a growing problem that Telkom and many other online internet service providers are not yet taking seriously enough.

Hackers get hold of your username and password and steal your bandwidth.

The best protection against bandwidth theft was to make your password too difficult for hackers to steal.

Never use your first name as your password because that makes it very easy for thieves to steal.

Have a password of at least 8 digits consisting of a combination of capital and lower-case letters and numbers.

If you're suspicious about the amount of bandwidth you're supposedly using, it's a good idea to change your password. Ask your service provider for help in changing the password.

The hackers use it to download pornography, movies, videos etc.

Beware Telkom is in denial about bandwidth theft.

And never make your password: "password" that is the first word anyone will try.

Default Passwords

Always use letters and numbers, make it more than 8 characters, mix it up with upper and lower case.

couldnt really call these bandwidth thieves hackers...

the art of stealing bandwidth is alot easier than "hacking"
by knowing saix's ip range, and scanning multiple ip's for known ports you could easily obtain info on which ip is using which router.
once you have this info, a simple google search will reveal the default username and password. once logged in, if the owner has never changed these default passwords, obtaining their username and password is simple. far less complex than being a hacker.
