Thread: Cape Town - Where to Stay / What to do?

  1. Cape Town - Where to Stay / What to do?

I will be visiting Cape Town in February and am unsure where I should be looking for accommodation? I also don't know if it's necessary to hire a car. I'll be there for a week and want to see as much as possible.

    Any advice?

  2. Stay somewhere near the city bowl. eg Tamboerskloof, Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay. These are all stunning areas and pretty central. If you budget extends as far, I definitely suggest you hire a car. Cape Town is not the easiest place wrt public transport.

    helicopter trip

You can always go shark cage diving,or go whale watching form a helicopter.
I recently flew with Overberg Aviation, they organize all kinds of trips in and around cape town.

  4. Where to stay

I would suggest hiring a car, there are many places to see in and around Cape Town, you would find it very difficult to travel without a car.I would suggest starting at the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town, plenty things to do and see, this will definitely keep you busy for about three days. Remember that the V&A waterfront is a little bit more expensive than other areas, which is a great shame. Be sure to visit the two oceans aquarium which is in the V&A Waterfront.

  5. I'm possibly moving out to Cape Town for a year on business, but I'd like to see it first. Can anyone recommend an exceptional hotel? As close to the beach as possible.

Ellerman house looks about right. Has anyone been before?

Any fine dining restaurants along the beach would be helpful too!

    Cheers

Earlier this year my wife and I decided to travel to Cape Town and on a colleague's recommendation we contacted a company called Sillabe & Co. What a great experience, very helpful and informative, the ladies name is Isabella (I Think) she is French and had a good idea of what we would like to experience in our short stay. If you stuck for ideas look at her website www.sillabe-sa.com

    CT with www.luxlife.co.za

Booked an unforgettable weekend with www.luxlife.co.za. I thought i'll give my husband the opportunity to do something special for our 10th wedding anniversary and he really made GOOD. We flew from Johannesburg to CT. Once we got to the airport, a Rolls Royce Phantom (or something) picked us up from the airport and took us to a private villa in Camps Bay.. Luxlife organized caterers for both nights and the food was absolutely amazing!! Everything made possible through the guys at Luxlife!
