Default Cricket World Cup 2007

Johnnie Walker has to donate $1 million to the Habitat for Humanity housing project after South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs made history last night when he hit 6 sixes in a single over in the Proteas' opening game at the Cricket World Cup match against the Netherlands at Warner Park in St Kitts.

Gibbs is the first man to achieve this feat in an international match and in a limited-overs match, and only the 3rd in history in all forms of cricket, when he launched into Dutch slow left-armer Daan van Bunge in the 30th over.

The brutal big hitting took Gibbs from 32 at the start of the over to 68 by the end of it.

Van Bunge at least had the minor consolation of helping to dismiss his tormentor when he held a catch in the deep in the next over off captain Luuk van Troost.

Gibbs eventually went for 72 with four fours and seven sixes, having faced just 40 balls.

The middle-order batsman, whose form has been erratic this year, got a standing ovation from his teammates after his achievement. South Africas innings ended after 40 overs in a rain-restricted match on 353 for three.

South Africa broke another record by hitting more sixes in an innings than any other team in the competition's history.

What a great way to start this tournament for South Africa, i am sure that Johnie Walker is praying that nobody else pulls off 6/6/6/6/6/6 again.

Default Who will go all the way

It looks like Australia are going to be hard to beat, Sl wiped out New Zealand.
Lets see if South Africa can beat Australia to play Sri Lanka in the final.

I not know why South Africa did not get any world cup even its team is one of the best of cricketing nation. South Africa could win twenty twenty world cup by doing more practice and no one can say it is bad after viewing it first match against West Indies but still no world cup is this some psychological effect that South Africa cannot win world cup as New Zealand cannot win semi final, Pakistan cannot beat India
