Default Cultural village

Dear friends,
Hi, I'm a 24 yrd Asian lady who will be staying at J'burg for a business meeting. Over the weekend I plan to go to the cultural village(Lesedi) & wld appreciate if anyone can share the following infos:

-Is it safe for a lady to travel to Lesedi on her own? Which best mode of transport should I take?
-How much is the cost if i pay a travel agent for a guided tour at the cultural centre (day trip)-meaning picking me up fm the hotel-Lesedi-return?
-Can I cover the whole area within a day trip, or is it worth to stay at the lodge inside the cultural centre?

thx in advance for your kind help

rgds
-Carol

Hi! I live in Jo'burg and we have been meaning to visst the cultural village as well so email me and let me know what weekend you spending here so we can all go together. The lesedi village is north of jo'burg, and can be covered in a day, there should be guides at the village.

If you have a whole day and possibly evening available, I suggest you visit the Lion Park for 2 hours in the morning, then the elephant sanctuary in the afternoon between 2pm and 4:30pm - and Lesedi on your way back. They have an evening programme that starts at 7pm and lasts an hour or so. You may find visiting all 3 sites a bit tiring so if you may want to leave one out. At the elephant sanctuary, you actually interact with the elephants which is a lot of fun. I wouldnt think staying overnight at Lesedi would be that much worthwhile. I am a tour operator - if you want prices, think about my suggestions and let me know - for a quote. No problem to collect you from hotel & return.

I agree -- I've been to Lesedi Cultural Centre. It was worthwhile and fun, but most definitely a day trip and includes a tour guide. Our cousins drove us there and back in their car from Jo'burg. I don't recall it taking that long.

I`ve also been to Lesedi , its a nice day trip. Don`t know what it will cost you to take you there and back from your hotel but its about 40mins or so from Johannesburg. There is also other nice places like Keith Mentioned which is all close by which is worth checking out
