Thought I'd share a funny experience in
Knysna. My friend and I were there a few days after New Years this year - we were on holiday and went to Knysna from a backpackers we were staying at in
George.
Well we arrived with no accommodation or anything sorted but decided to go out and play some pool. The inevitable happened, suddenly it was 4 in the morning and we were very drunk. The grim realities of the situation hit me as hard as they could in my state at the time and I realised we needed a place to sleep. Random roaming led us to a camping park in
Brenton on Sea - it also had chalets. We managed to bulls**t our way in by saying that we were staying with friends inside. We went to the end of the park and I passed out in the car, my friend slept on the grass outside.
Next thing I know I woke up with sun beating down on me, hung over, bleary eyed and heard my friend taking slack from one of the people who works there "you have 5 min to get off this property or we will arrest you for trespassing". My friend gave some pretty lame excuses (excuses don't come easily after drinking at that time of the day) and we left the premises pretty swiftly.
Anyway not the funniest story in the world but amusing nonetheless, remember if you ever strapped for accommodation in Knysna in the early hours of the morning Brenton on Sea may just be your best bet!
