Good week

After all the amazing info I received I have to report back on a great week in Cape town. I'll update my pages soon as well.

I missed out on Jeremy's generous offer because I only got his e-mail now. But we will be back soon.

Gerald you live in a lovely little village you can promote it. My kids enjoyed the little beach. Just feet in the water. We are not strong enough for that cold water. Restaurant there is great. Nice setting, good food etc.

There was no way we could work through all those restaurants. Would have love to though because the ones we got to was excellent.

I loved Hillcrest Berry orchard and the farmstall in Noordhoek is sinful. Glad I don't stay closeby. The scones are amazing and different and you get real jam from a bottle. Cafe Olympia was a hit. You were right Gerald I wouldn't have gone in there if it wasn't for your suggestion. I just loved it. The new sign outisde says something like "Hippies use the entrance to the right" It is the smoking area. The awards they received hang in the toilet.

Kalk Bay became a favourite.

Boyes drive was great.
Victoria road is the lower coastal road between seapoint and Camps Bay but we found the higher one, can't remember the name now and the view was excellent. The signal hill sunset was great as well.

BLues in Camps bay was stunning. I had difficulty steering the men in my life away from Spur. I got the feeling it is a brandname like Billabong and Quicksilver. Doesn't matter if the food is bad it is Spur. And the one at the V&A's food is not nice.

The weather was great. If anybody can offer me a job there I'm available.

I understand your concern about recommending Kalk Bay it is very different. Soemtimes people need different. For me different is a way of live. That is why the Grand West casino was such a dissapointment to me. It is so the same as every other Casino (except Montecasino, where you don't even realise it is a casino the gambling area is very hidden away) I realised when I wrote the tip that it would be nice to some people but I felt I had to give my perspective on it.

5 years ago when we were in Paternoster they were already building guesthouses etc. We looked at house prices in Kalk Bay and it is already crazy. I would have loved a little house there but if they sell a cottage for R2 000 000 than it is not in my price range.


And yes Jeremy get me a job but you have to get Gary one as well and he will be a disater as a teacher. Very Impatient that one.
