Default Hunting

Tanya
As a local I can say that I am appalled at the hunting of animals for any reason Big 5 or other. In earlier times animals were hunted for feeding a family etc and they were respected by their hunter. The indigenous people of all countries did not hunt for trophies and this is happening now. "canned hunting" is too wrong to even be defensible I think.
The Kruger Park is our biggest park and is a national heritage. I would strongly urge you to visit there. There are also many other game reserves where hunting is not condoned or practiced. In fact, they would let nature take its course in every respect by not even intervening when an animal is injured or otherwise.

Hi Tanya,

I am from JHB South Africa, & I agree with U !! Killing animals for sport is just not fair!!!

I do on the other hand suggest coming to this beautiful country, especially Kruger Park......The animals in Kruger as far as I know are not hunted for sport, there are however instances when they are culled. But I see U have already crossed this bridge....

The camps in the park are very beautiful and extremely homely, and U will meet many Gr8 people there.....Do U'reself a favour and book U're trip tp the Kruger Park, U will not be sorry!!!

U can also visit a local web site for more info,

ere's the reality. No: you're not being sentimental: you are, in truth, verbalising the disquiet and, indeed, repugnance felt by millions of normal human beings who are repulsed by the fact that there exist on our planet certain beings (males only - never women), who feel that murdering a living creature with a high-powered rifle (usually with a telescopic sight to keep them safely out of reach of the target) somehow confers on them some sort of spurious "manhood."

Yeah, right.

Truth is, the screwed-up misfits who need to kill something so they can feel "manly" are in fact pathetic losers who need their long-barrelled hunting rifles to compensate for the fact they have a willy the size of an extremely short pipe cleaner.

Speak to these butchers (and those who organise their major megabuck "creature-comfort" safaris for them), and you will be ladeled with all the usual macho-bluster ***: it's all part of the "culling" process, they'll tell you; but the reality is, these morons need to kill other living creatures because it makes them feel empowered in a world in which they really have no place.

Think about this: if these "hunters" were real men, they would leave behind their rifles, their guides, their four-wheel-drive vehicles and their telescopic gunsights, and venture forth into the bush with bare feet and a spear - and take on their "victims" on an equal footing.

Then again, this wouldn't do, would it - because then we'd end up with a leopard's home full of hunters' heads on the wall.

Personally speaking, I don't have any problem with a man who wants to assert his testicular fortitude by taking on a worthy (animal) adversary: all I ask is that he does it up close and personal - and on equal terms.
