Kruger Park to Victoria Falls

My 7 day Kruger to Victoria Falls participation camping safari was adequate. All in all I had a fabulous time and our guide was great fun.

It was nice to have a smaller group to begin....just 4 of us for the first part of the trip. That made long rides in the van tolerable because we each had enough space to spread out. I would have to say that the sleeping bags I rented through the company were not warm enough for the cold winter temperatures and there were 2 campsites that were less than acceptable. One in particular seemed chosen so that we could easily pick up more people as we headed to Victoria Falls. There was nothing beautiful or meaningful about this campsite in Polokwane. We could have easily spent more time in Botswana rather than staying at this campsite. The Victoria Falls campsite was cool since there was a lodge and it was on the river but the showers never had hot water and there were tons of mosquitos in the shower with you.

I knew it was a budget-oriented trip but I had moments of being so uncomfortable due to the cold and I felt there were some portions of the trip that seemed to cater more to the operator making money versus the clients being able to see as much as possible in the short time we had.

Once I came home, it mattered less as I do have unbelievable memories and I suppose I feel proud of myself for roughing it more than I would typically choose. I am already thinking about going back to Africa but will likely do it in a slightly more upscale manner in the future.

The operator did provide us with requested information in an expedient manner and Khensani was a likeable guide. I do look back fondly on my trip but hope that the operator will consider changing up the itinerary a bit and providing a bit more comfort when it is cold for campers. Thanks!

The people were amazing. I was a little hesitant to go by myself, but everything went smoothly. John was able to answer all questions I had before my trip, and I had quite a few!

I would recommend this trip to people of all ages, and those interested in having the most wonder vacation ever in Sunny South Africa!

I had a fantastic time. everything about the trip was superb and it was i reckon the best value for money possible. the guide dion was superb I couldnt say enough about him professional, fun, knowledgable etc. etc. kruger park was great as was the booze cruise white water rafting on the zambezi victoria falls.
