Thread: Kruger retreat over IPL

  1. Kruger retreat over IPL

For anyone wanting to go away on a wilderness retreat over the IPL, check below:

    RETREATS TO MANYELETI GAME RESERVE

The following retreats have been planned specifically to cater for followers/spouses/families of the IPL. A maximum of eight people can be accommodated- the camp can be booked by an entire group if requested.

    DATES: 14-19 April
19- 24 April and later dates on request.

We depart from ORTIA (JHB) International Airport at 09h00. We return at about

ECOPSYCHOLOGY AFRICA cc retreats provide an authentic, “DOWN TO EARTH” African wilderness experience. Retreats take place in wilderness areas well known to me and that are well off the ‘tourist’ track where we have exclusive use of small, private, unfenced bush camps. Accommodation is comfortable and as about as close to nature as you can get.

I can accommodate a MAXIMUM of 8 guests as this is an intimate, exclusive experience with the wilderness setting providing the ultimate backdrop for an inward journey.

April is a good time to explore this resrve. Temperatures all round are quite pleasant at this time of year. We will spend five nights in the bush giving you a privileged opportunity to experience wilderness and wildness, and to connect to yourself and others in a meaningful way.

Please refer to attachment for more information about Jeffrey Rink and Ecopsychology Africa cc.

    MANYELETI GAME RESERVE

The Manyeleti Game Reserve is situated on the unfenced western border of the Greater Kruger National Park, south of the Orpen Gate of Kruger and the Timbavati Game Reserve (of White Lion fame), and north of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and within close proximity to Londolozi, Mala Mala and many other ‘exclusive’ lodges in the adjoining private game reserves. Manyeleti is home to the “Big 5” – lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Cheetah, other smaller cat species, and on occasion, wild dog may be seen here too. Diverse ecosystems lead to a diversity of habitats, fauna and flora, and vistas. Game viewing is generally excellent in this reserve, but this can’t be taken for granted. Photographic opportunities abound.

We will stay at Manyeleti for 5 nights. Our camp is remote and deep in the Manyeleti bush, close to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve border- literally a kilometre or two away. This ‘rustic’ camp is in a ‘typical’ African savannah setting. It is unfenced. We sleep in 2 person dome tents, on a wooden deck protected and shaded by a wooden ‘A’ frame. Each tent has its own toilet, shower and basin.

Activities include walking trails, meditations and game drives- both day and night. I know the reserves well. I have a close, ongoing relationship with management and our game guides. This relationship allows us to utilise wilderness situations spontaneously- if and when they arise, allowing for a privileged wilderness experience. Our guides are aware of what my retreats entail, are respectful of the process, appreciate the intention of the retreat, and know what I am looking out for. Guides come from local communities, and are particularly knowledgeable about the traditional and psychospiritual aspects of the wilderness area we will find ourselves in.

This is not a “luxury safari.” The emphasis is on the wilderness experience . This is a privileged opportunity to experience Africa in an authentic way.

    PRACTICALITIES

PLEASE NOTE: This is the ‘planned’ itinerary. We are often going to be off road in wilderness areas- in AFRICA. Weather- good or bad can impact on our arrangements, as can ‘road’ conditions. I also tend to go with the principle of ‘immediacy’ and will adjust the itinerary if something “interesting” happens that the group wants to follow up on.

TRANSPORT: We will travel to and from Manyeleti, with a tour transfer company. Use will be made of a ‘4 x 4’ in Manyeleti.

MEDITATION: I will teach meditation to participants.

COST: R 12 000 per person sharing from ORTIA Airport(JHB). Includes catering and all activities. I am happy to cater for any specific dietary requirements you may have.

Excludes: Roadside meals and snacks, and tips. Post retreat DVD at R 100 per DVD hour.

DEPOSIT: A deposit of R 6 000-00 will secure your place, followed by payment of the balance of R 6000-00. The deposit is not refundable. Cancellations in the week preceding the retreat will be subject to forfeiture of the full amount.

FLIGHT HOME: Please book your connecting flight if applicable for after 18h30 on date of departure from Manyeleti.
