Default Need help with accomodation at Kruger NP

I'm looking for information about Kruger National Park and what I have found it's quite a lot, so if someone could give me some directions it would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I are planning to visit our family in Argentina next april-may and on the way (we are living in Asia), we would like to stop an overall of one week at South Africa: a few days at Johanesburg (the plane stop there and then, at Cape Town) and the rest at Kruger NP. By that time, our son will be 1 year old. Could it be dangerous for him ? also, will a 1-yr. old routine interfere with schedules plans or drive games ? (I ask this because we can postpone the trip)

The most important, which is the best place to stay in the park ? what we would like to see are the big 5, specially lions. Some suggestions about accomodation ? (not need to be luxurious, just private bath, electricity and facilities to warm baby bottles)

Do we have to book in advance ?

Any suggestion or recommendation would be of great help.
Thanks !!!!

You are choosing a good time to visit South Africa and especially the Kruger National park. The Park is dry between May and June so this is the best time to visit. April, however is ideal for bird watching as the migrations take place during this period.

The prices of accommodation in SA are half price during winter. The greatest risk facing you and your child in the Kruger park is malaria. This risk is greatly reduced during the dry season.

(Often, particularly after periods of low rainfall, the malaria risk in the Kruger Park is very low. Many people decide not to take prophylactics and rather try to avoid getting bitten. The most vulnerable times are between dusk and dawn. People are advised to stay indoors during these periods, or cover exposed skin with light clothing or insect repellants. The ankles are the most critical area. Burning anti-mosquito coils and ensuring netted screens are kept closed are other preventative measures.)

No need to take malaria tablets during this period. I would spend only 1 night in Joburg, try spend at least 3 nights in Cape Town and 3 nights on safari in the Kruger.

There are so many fantastic lodges in the park, select one that is child friendly. Richards Bransons new place is awesome and is child friendly, all is laid on, see http://www.krugerpark-direct.com/sab...a-game-reserve

Or you could stay in one of SANPARKS camps like skukuza, its very reasonably priced and ideal as a self drive option, see http://www.krugerpark-direct.com/skukuza/skukuza-camp.

In Cape Town you rent a incredible villa with a 15m heated indoor pool for R1500 per day in winter see http://www.capetown-direct.com/constantia/camelot-villa.

Joburg is good for shopping.

Its NB to book in advance.
