New Years Eve is almost upon us once again and RK Events, in association with Millers Genuine Draft, Play Energy Drink and Ballito.net are proud to bring you the 3rd annual Big Bash Ballito.

Although plagued with Ballito style rain last year, we welcomed over 5000 people from all over South Africa into 2007 in what was the biggest New Years Eve event in Kwazulu Natal and the 3rd biggest in South Africa.

As always your host, MC and headline DJ will be Gareth Cliff of 5FM with a 2 hour supporting act from the South African phenomenon, Lady Lea.

Ticket prices will range from R140 for a regular to R250 for a VIP.

BALLITO IS SET TO HOST SA's BIGGEST NEW YEARS EVE PARTY IN 2008

G&G PRODUCTIONS, one of South Africa's premier event companies and 5FM have teamed up to stage a New Years Eve party which is simply not to be missed. The event forms one of the anchors of 5FM's (New Years Eve)5 campaign, which showcases the best New Years Eve events in South Africa. 5FM will be broadcasting event information on-air throughout December.

The Ballito Centre in Sandra Road, home to Ballito's best loved night spot, Boston Action Bar, will be built up from ground zero, into a first class event venue fit to transport in excess of 10 000 people into 2009. This space will be transformed into a stylish party paradise with 3 enormous dance floors, 3 enclosed night clubs, a 3 story VIP area with a private dance floor, double viewing decks and an 800sqm lounge, as well as an extremely exclusive and classy Royalty area that will impress the most discerning of tastes.

"We first organised what has become our flagship event in 2005" said Greg Walsh, a Director at G&G Productions. "In that year we had just 2 000 attendees, since then the event area has more than quadrupled in size and last year over 8 000 people joined us to bring in 2008!" G&G Productions have increased the size of the venue yet again to accommodate the expected crowd of over 10 000 people from all over South Africa, at this popular event.

The one and only Ballito New Years Eve Street Party jumpstarts just before sun set at 6pm on Wednesday 31st December and the all night entertainment extravaganza is set to continue until 10am the following day. The DJ line up is extensive but to name a few, highlights will include 5FM's Erica Elle and Euphonik, as well as Gareth Devore and spin sister, Lady Lea, who are no strangers to the party, having headlined there in 2007.. "I have heard nothing but the best about the Ballito New Year's Eve Street Party; and after seeing photos from last year's massive celebration I knew that this is one DJ gig I did not want to miss!!!! We are going to have such an awesome time together; I cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of 2009 with YOU!" said an excited Erica Elle.

Plans for the infrastructure are considerable and include, a concert style stage with an intelligent laser show installation, confetti blasters, 12 screens and a 112KW sound system. Moving from the enormous dancefloor to the chill out areas, attendees can expect 16 Bedouin stretch marquees, with over 200m of professionally managed bars, décor by event design specialists, Magic Moments and a food court providing an exceptional variety to suit every taste. At midnight a choreographed firework display will light up the North Coast skyline. "We are going all out this year to ensure that people attending the event have the ultimate New Years Eve experience and an all-encompassing environment to relax in, let their hair down and pop the champagne corks, as the countdown to 2009 ticks away" said Walsh.

Good news! Ticket prices remain the same as last year with Early bird tickets going on sale from 1 November 2008. Early bird discounted tickets are selling at R150 for Regular Entry, R250 for VIP entry and R700 for the exclusive Royalty tickets. From 1 December 2008, tickets will be sold at the full price of R170 / R280 /R750 respectively, so get in early to receive these great discounts!

For the U18's there is also a smashing event taking place at Sub Zero night club in Ballito's exclusive La Montane Hotel. "Every year we get inundated with calls from parents asking what's on offer for their teenagers. Teaming up with Sub Zero with this purpose in mind made perfect sense" explained Walsh. The fun kicks off at 6pm and attendees can look forward to the same DJ line up and a fun filled, alcohol free party that will go on until 3am. G&G Productions are expecting 1 500 party goers at this venue. Tickets for Sub Zero are on sale at R100 for regular entry and R180 for VIP entry.
