Hi all! I'm planning a vacation in South Africa in a few weeks (haven't decided where yet - probably Cape Town) and I suppose I'll make thousands of good photos that will worth seeing. Accidentally I saw this site: passingthroughindia.com and I thought the idea of uploading my photos in a site is very good. I tried that builder sitekreator.com with which this guy Lee Gimpel made his site for India and I think the builder is really good and you can make your site even for free. What do you think of this - is it a good solution or it's just a lost of time? How do you store your photos? How do you show them to your friends?

Hi Tarram, I think you should carry on using the builder at sitekreator.com, and create an external link on your page with the ‘Add Navigation Menu Item’ option; you may link it to one of the online photo sharing websites available. There are quite a few of these websites, each offering an upload limit. I suggest using Flickr, one of the most popular ways to store, organise and share your photos online, which has been bought by Yahoo. On this particular site, you can upload 20MB worth of photos each calendar month. This is a bandwidth limit, and not an amount of space that you have to play with on Flickr servers.
You also have the convenience of using your Yahoo details to sign in. wwwflickr.com Last edited by Ming : 09-10-2006 at 10:23 PM. |
