Port Elizabeth to Capetown in a week?

Hi all

My girlfriend and I are planning a drive from PE to CT towards the end of Sept. We start on the saturday and want to be in CT for the following wednesday. Plans so far are a day and night in Plett Bay and one night, probably the tuesday in the Winelands. Therefore we are looking for advice on the two other days and nights on the road. Should we have one stop between PE and Plett Bay or make it our first stop? If so what two other overnight stops should we make before the Winelands? Or would you recommend a stop before Plett Bay for the first night?

I hope this all makes sense, don't want to make the wrong choices when on a tight schedule.

Hi Dave, I suggest you spend a night in Oudtshoorn, and possibly a night in Hermanus if whale spotting holds any appeal for you.

So it'll look like this:
PE to Plett, 1 night
Plett to Oudtshoorn,1 night
Oudtshoorn to Winelands (suggest Franschhoek as a personal preference), 1 nightWinelands to Hermanus, 1 night
Hermanus to CT
