Thread: Rooti's Cape Malay Restaurant

  1. Rooti's Cape Malay Restaurant

I took my staff to this restaurant yesterday but cannot say anything good about it. The rice and vegies was dreid out and the egg was fried hours before. There are many good restaurants in Cape Town, tourist must make use of food forums to identify the bad one's.

    Do not eat here!

I agree. Five of us decided to eat at Rooti's for lunch, and were very disappointed with the slow service. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive, and when the food finally arrived, there was a hair on one of the plates. As this could happen at many restaurants, we gave Rooti's the benefit of the doubt and complained to our waiter. The manager came back to our table with the same plate, and asked us to find the hair! The worst part of our entire experience was that 3 out of 5 of the party got food poisoning from the prawns here. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

  3. I am glad you all posted this, we were planning on eating there during out trip in September. Thanks for the warning!

    Where do you recommend eating?
