Default Table Mountain National Park Hoerikwaggo Trails

SANPARKS has done a great job setting up and managing the Hoerikwaggo trails(sea mountain). There is no better way to enjoy the Table Mountain National Park then by taking a 2, 3 or 6 day walking trail over and across the mountain.

The hikes are professionally guided, portered and fully catered in delectable, traditional Cape cuisine. Included in the hike are the landmarks like District Six Museum, the V &A Waterfront, the Cape Malay Quarter, Greenmarket Square, Company Gardens, a Cable Car ride and Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden.

Hoerikwaggo Trails are designed to meet the diverse needs of both local and international visitors to the Cape. The Table Mountain National Park has 4 Hoerikwaggo Trails to choose from.

The Table Mountain Trail is a luxury 3 day, guided, catered with porters.
Duration: 3 days, 2 nights, Total Length: 25,5 km
Day 1: 7 km, approximately 6,5 hours
Day 2: 9,5 km, approximately 6 hours
Day 3: 9 km, approximately 6 hours
Difficulty: You need to be reasonably fit and able to manage steep inclines.

Default Cableway’s Restaurant Closed

The Cableway’s Restaurant at the Top will be closed for refurbishment from Monday April 14 until mid-August this year.

Improvements include a brand new look and feel to the interior of the restaurant and a trendier, more varied menu to cater to the changing demands of the cableway’s tourist market. All changes will meet the internationally accepted Environmental Management System requirements and guidelines which Table Mountain Aerial Cableway is committed to.

While the restaurant is closed, visitors can buy refreshments and enjoy light meals and snacks at The Bistro, located at the Upper Cable Station. The new and improved Table Mountain Café will re-open in August 2008.
