Thumbs up Top 10 Destinations in Africa

This is my personal choice listed from North to South.

1. Pyramids: Egypt

The main reason most people visit Egypt is to see the Giza Pyramids, which have always been a fascination for millions of people. The origins of Pyramids continue to be a source of lively debate; the Pyramids of Giza represent one of the greatest architectural feats known to man. They are the last surviving member of the 7 Wonders of the World. The perfect way to see Egypt is by taking a slow boat down the river Nile.

2. Marrakech: Morocco

Marrakech or Marakesh is known as the "Red City" is situated at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, this large, noisy, polluted and smelly city is also fascinating and full of history and beauty. If you enjoy a daily assault on all your senses then you'll have a lot of fun. Most popular sights include the Majorelle gardens or the gardens around the Saadian Tombs. A visit to the largest traditional market in Morocco which also has the busiest square on the entire African continent called Djemaa el Fna is a must see.

3. Maasai Mara: Kenya

The Masai Mara consists of 1510 kmē, not the largest game park in Kenya, but probably the most famous. The game park is nestled within the enormous Great Rift Valley that extends from the Mediterranean to Southern Africa. The Maasi Mara game reserve is most famous for the annual wildebeest migration which takes place around July of each year. The Migration is one of the most impressive natural events worldwide, involving over 1 million Wildebeest, 300,000 Thomson's Gazelle, and 200000 Zebra. See Maasai Mara Safari

4. Kilimanjaro: Tanzania

The highest mountain in Africa, 19,340 ft Kilimanjaro has 5 distinct ecological zones making it challenging to climb. Even though it rests on the equator it is permanently snow-capped. A good one to climb before Everest. See Climb Kilimanjaro

5. Victoria Falls: Zimbabwe/Zambia

Victoria Falls is described by the Kololo tribe as Mosi-oa-Tunya or 'Smoke that Thunders' is located on the Zambezi River, on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, 1750m wide and 130m high. Victoria forms the largest curtain of falling water in the world, this spectacular sight can be seen from 30km away.

6. Lake Kariba:Zambia / Zimbabwe

Lake Karibais a huge man made lake holding one of the largest expanses of fresh water in the world located on the Zambezi river about 75km from Victoria Falls, home to a diverse fish population. Lake Kariba is about 225 km long and up to 40 km wide. It covers an area of 6000 Sq Km. The lake lies along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The tranquil waters lap against shores lined with palm, mango, banana and avocado trees. Here you can kayak, snorkel and Tiger fish from your own houseboat. Tiger fishing on Lake Kariba

7. Okavango Delta: Botswana

The Okavango Delta has champagne-coloured waterways, probably the best place in Africa for birding. It is the largest inland delta in the world and is exceptionally beautiful. The Okavango delta is a mesh of meandering and intercepting waterways, creating a haven for wildlife. The standard mode of transport in this region is the Makora, this is the local word for hollowed out log which serves as a boat. See Okavango Delta

8. Kruger National park: South Africa

The best stocked and most established game reserve in Africa, the Kruger National Park covers 21,000 sq km of lowveld, about the size of Wales and approximately 1 million visitors enter the park to get a glimpse at over 300 000 wild animals. The Kruger Park has excellent accommodation and is the perfect place to view the Big 5. There is no better place on earth to go on Safari than the Kruger national park. Book your safari today at Kruger National Park

9. Swim with Dolphins: Ponta Do Ouro/ Mozambique

Ponta Do Ouro is situated in southern tip of Mozambique on the Soth African border has a resident population of over one hundred Bottlenose and Spinner dolphins. This is the best place to have a dolphin encounter in Africa. Humback whales also join in during winter. Dolphin Tours last 4 days and can be combined with a trip to Kruger national park.Look at Swim with Dolphins

10. Cape Town: Table Mountain/ South Africa

Table Mountain is the iconic landmark which stands in the centre of the most beautiful city in the world Cape Town. Cape Town is famous for its stunning white beaches, winelands , great weather, beautiful people and Robben Island.
