    Travelling to Vic Falls

Does anyone have any knowledge or experiences of travelling by car to Victoria Falls? I don't know if one can buy diesel or even if there's any food available en route. Things don't sound so great.

  2. Business as usual in Vic falls

With the deluge of media attention focused on Zimbabwe, we thought it was important to give you some insight as to what is happening here on the ground, in Victoria Falls.

As has been the case for the past 10 years, the Zimbabwean Tourism Industry has certainly been faced with many and varied a challenge. Now is no different with the current press painting an extremely negative picture as to what is happening in the country.

Over the past month it has been "business as usual" in the Falls. The number of guests passing through has exceeded that of the previous year. The experiences offered to the guest continues to exceed expectations, and the reality is that none of the guests would ever have realised that they were in one of the perceived "hot-spots" of the world.

We at Victoria Falls have been servicing the industry for the past 20 years, and we have always been clear and honest with the industry. Should anything change here on the ground that would affect the visitor, we will be the first to ensure that you and your clients are informed.

    Hi Tony

It is very safe to drive there by car, definitely via Botswana. There are plenty of places to stay en-route and fuel and provisions is plentiful. Once you get to Kasane at the northernmost tip of Botswana, you can then decide whether you want to see the Falls from the Zimbabwe side (a 75km trip from there) or across the river to Livingstone in Zambia??
Of course, when you are at Kasane, The Chobe National Park is close by too. Hope this helps and let me know if you need more info.
    Regards

which one is more beautiful, to see it from Zimbabwe side or river to Livingstone in Zambia?

  6. Vic Falls as it is known locally is a vibrant tourism centre

Luxury hotels - bush lodges - self catering or bed and breakfast are just a few of the accommodation choices.

Blend this with aerial activities, land activities or water activities - add a dash of nightlife with traditional dance shows, fine dining and eating and you have a safe and perfect safari holiday destination

The town of Victoria Falls is small and easy to negotiate.

There's a moderate amount of pressure from touts as you walk down the street but nothing ominous or intolerable
