What's the best zone to see animals in August?

I'd like to know what is the best zone to see animals in Kruger N.P?
Is it in the center or in the south of the park? What about the Private Game Reserves?
The period that I'm interested in is August.

    Thank you for your attention!

  2. Kruger National Park

The Southern Part of the park is close to Johannesburg and is teaming with wildlife, use SANParks accommodation if you looking for a budget safari. If you looking for luxury in the Kruger Park, the best on offer is in the Sabi Sands Game reserve. Ulusaba, Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi are at the top. August is a good time to visit as its still not too hot.

I have been visiting the Kruger N.P. since 1990 on a regular basis(3 to 4 times a year). There are a few camps that you can go to that are quite remote. Depending if you camp or use park accomodation. Their are the commercial camps or private camps(no shops and few chalets). Biyamiti is in the south and gives you access the whole southern park. Saw big five easily in September last year and now again over school holidays. Biyamiti has its own access roads which only the residents can drive on. One of the other private reserves that is quite nice is Thorny Bush. It has various Lodges that form part of the main reserve. Just ensure that the lodge has full driving rights on the whole reserve.

I always do my kruger boking with krugerdirect.com as the rates they charge are teh same as if you would have booked direct and you only have to pay them 30 days prior to you holiday, if you book direct then you have to pay 50% pretty quickly to Sanparks.

Hopes thsi hepls if you require more info mail me on taxbooks@gmail.com

  4. Satara situated in an excellent game viewing area of the Kruger Park, is very popular restcamp and it is just for that reason. The vegetation in the area is quite open making it easy to spot and view wildlife. The camp has over 100 camping sites, 152 Bungalows and a few fully furnished guest houses. There is also a great restaurant, curio shop and fuel is easily available.

  5. OK, for the best game viewing, then if your budget allows it, def stay in one of the private game reserves that make up the Greater Kruger NP.

The lodges here offer possibly the best Big 5 game viewing opportunities to be found anywhere, with lion and leopard tracking a particular speciality.

These lodges are either located within one of a handful of concessions in Kruger itself, or in one of the neighbouring private game reserves (such as Sabi Sand, Timbavati, Klaserie, and Manyeleti) on the western side of the Park.

The land is privately owned, so the game viewing vehicles are not restricted to the road network and it is therefore possible for the experienced guides to follow the wildlife through the bush and to get extremely close to the animals.

Otherwise, if you are looking to stay INSIDE the Park, in one of the rest camps, then the southern or central section are excellent for game viewing.

Self-drive in Kruger is a wonderful experience - the thrill of driving along a road by yourself and coming across a pride of lions basking under a nearby tree, or waiting at a peaceful waterhole and having a sighting all to yourself is hard to beat.

Inside the Park, there is an excellent infrastructure of roads, some of which are tarred, others gravel. Good, clear signposts and maps help to make the driving experience easy and enjoyable. BUT ... bear in mind .. drivers must remain on the roads at all times, and are NOT allowed to drive off-road or get out of their vehicles, except at designated viewing points.

    Hope this helps !

August is very much still dry season so the animal density is greater in the southern parts where there is water i.e. Skukuza camp and below. Enjoy your trip!

    There is no financial crisis.

So here's what happened. When I was done with school one day I headed out, I was hungry so I took a detour to this fast food joint and ordered a sandwich and then went off to eat it in a corner when it suddenly occured to me they didn't charge me!

Yes evidently they were super busy and distracted because there was this manager/investor type looking around everywhere and talking to them. The reason I didn't realize thiswas because I was pondering this disturbing thought I had about the recent stock market crash. When you really think about it nothing crashed except for currency! All the people in all the companies are still there, all the technology is still there and not forgotton. Now obviously besides the fact that the dollar is known to have lost value the price of stock(in dollars) has also crashed. Now think! Shouldn't the opposite have happened? How can stock value fall more than currency? It can't!

This financial crisis is purely psychological and those who don't snap out of it are doomed to failure. Not that it matters much to me personally at this stage in my life though but my guess is that most people are fully unaware or only partly aware that most stock is currently undervalued and there will be no depression. This is so audaciously simple that it just goes over everyone's heads. All of these figures of low growth don't mean anything. Answer me this, if the growth of the last decade was 20% then what difference does it make if everything shrinks by 10% over the next decade? Answer, none! There is no crisis or as that one person whose name I don't recall right now said, it's just an opportunity.
