  1. Where to party on New Year's Eve?

    Howzit everyone,

I have been living in cape Town for less than a year now and still finding my way around. Anyway, I have a group of friends visiting from Canada and Brazil over New Year, and need to find "the sickest party" for them. Any ideas welcome, as they are a diverse bunch of party animals............

    Thanks

    Shaun

It depends wot type of music you into.
If you want a big party, try the 5fm/savannah New Years Party.
    check out the info:

(at the bottom of the page)

    also check out

But, i think the 5fm party would be better, good luck.

Hi Shaun. If you looking for the sickest party ever on new years eve then vortex is the way to go. its a 3 day outdoor party starting from 30 dec - 1 Jan. Make sure you are there the morning of the 31 Dec if you dont want to go on the 30th as you will have to set up your things and want to check the vibe out and were all the dance floors are.All you need is your tent, food, toiletries and off you go.Its a experience none of your friends will ever forget. I was sceptical of it at first but when i went to my 1st one i just couldnt get enough. The venue is still to be annouced but just check out the vortex website.
Believe me dude, you will not regret it!!!!!!!!

    Vortex New Year

I just returned from the famous VORTEX and Alien Safari new years party out in Stellenbosch, and can tell you one thing: DO NOT GO!

Sadly, the organizers have missed several important steps on the way to making a good party, and instead are now completely focused on making a lot of money

    1) The music literally stayed exactly the same for the entire first night. no slow down, no change, no chill out, no sun up music. just the same cd we heard all night

    2) Although you pay a handsome R320 to party, that does not mean that the car you park there is in any way safe. Apparently, it is more important to make profit then to hire security guards for the parking lots

    3) If anything happens, you are on your own. The organizers wash their hands off you if you need them, so cars got stolen, bags, etc and they did absolutely nothing besides say: "not my problem"

All in all, this party is really far from being a good trance party, and has left me with a very bitter aftertaste for trance in south africa. If this is supposedly the best party of the year, please do not show me the worst.
